Silage quality may be enhanced through the regulation of the height of cut.
The height of cut is easily managed with the regulation of the head of the cutter.
The relation of the ear or panicle in the ensiled mass will be increased by making the cut 30 to 50 cm above the surface, thus obtaining a high percentage of digestibility at the same time as no indigestible fibers will be taken to the silo together with other biological elements which are potentially harmful for the ensilage, such as: earth, fungi and bacteria.
