Inoculation

The inoculation is a very important factor to achieve high quality ensiling but it is important to bear in mind that the inoculants do not enhance a silage service that has been done incorrectly.

The ensiling process does not improve but maintains the quality of the original crop, in the best of cases.

The use of inoculants helps reduce the loss of dry matter between 1 and 3%, it hinders the growth of fungi and micotoxins, it accelerates fermentation, it increases the conservation time, and it diminishes the temperature and helps to decrease the loss of effluents thus resulting in more nutrients and higher digestibility.
